![]() You can also grab the Dashmaster Charm which is to the left of the lower bench. This will save a lot of time as the village has a lot of enemies. Before heading into Mantis Village, be sure to grab the lower bench. You can return to the Queen’s Station bench if you want or head back and continue going down. Follow the map above and grab the shortcut by opening the gate. If you want buy a Charm from Leg Eater, otherwise, or return directly to the room right of the Mushroom room and continue heading right. Leg Eater is a merchant who sells breakable Charms. This is where a bench is located as well as the Leg Eater. About halfway up, there will be a room you can enter to the right. Continue right into the next room and head up. Defeat them to unlock the doors and receive the Charm Notch, which will allow you to equip more Charms. These mushrooms will shoot projectiles into the air or/and smash their heads into the ground. In the next room you will face two big Mushrooms. This gate can be opened by going into the room on the right and working your way through it.After the gate has been opened continue going up. ![]() In the next room you will have to platform up until you reach what appears to be a closed gate. Return to the room above Cornifer and head to the right. Now that you have the map, get deeper into Fungal Wastes. Drop into the hole and look for a hall on the lower left of this room. The first thing you’ll need to grab is the respective map.Ĭornifer will be pretty close to you, so head to the top right exit from Queen’s station and continue right until you come across a hole in the ground. With the Stagway open and with the bench activated, you can head freely to Fungal Wastes. Directly across from the map is Queen’s Station which has a Stagway Station and a bench as well. Thus Fog Canyon is pretty much closed off to your current location, so you won’t be needing a map at all. The exit to Fungal Wastes is at the bottom to the right. Now that you have the ‘ Dash ’ competence you have gained more mobility as well as the ability to access areas you previously couldn’t. At the bottom go right and then down to the bottom of the next cavern. The small jellyfish is pretty harmless though. Head straight down, avoiding the large jellyfish due to they’ll shoot a fireball at you if you attack them first. You can get there even from Greenpath by taking the shown exit in the map below. There has been some discussion about adding a separate category for Switch runs after the release of Gods and Glory, which might make for more competitive runs, but right now you'll have to either work around the time losses on Switch or buy a copy of Hollow Knight on Mac/PC.To get to the ‘Fungal Wastes ’ you’ll need to take a quick trip through Fog Canyon first. Speedrunning on Switch is by default minutes slower due to the changes added in the Lifeblood Update, which is unfortunate. 5 hours to complete the game is ample time (The world record for 106% NMG is under 2 hours 40 minutes).Īsk Team Cherry. If you're not aiming to run on the SRC leaderboards and simply doing a casual speedrun (for example to get Speedrun 2), you don't even need the Fog Canyon skip. This is just something you'll have to decide for yourself based on how you approach glitches. Make sure you're not immune to acid, practice the super dash, get the timing right on the jump off of the other wall, and you'll be fine.įloating past the acid also works, but if you're going to do that you'll be running NSOOB (or SOOB I guess) rather than NMG. I'll also add that the skip (as well as a similar skip to Queen's Gardens) can't be done with Isma's Tear, as it pulls you into the acid too quickly to gain a purchase on the wall. Crossroads to Fog Canyon acid skip was not changed and can still be done, you probably just need to practice the timing of the super dash a bit more.
